This Saturday, February 17, 2024, on the lawn of the "Dignity Health Sports Park", located on the Campus of the "California State University", our Grenadières played their entry ticket to the 2024 senior women's Gold Cup by facing in a play-off match the "Coqui Warriors" of Puerto Rico.

While this match seemed within reach of our girls (51st in the world) who faced a modest Puerto Rican team (103rd in the world), nothing happened as expected and our Grenadières finally lost on the strict minimum [ 0-1] and are eliminated.

To face Puerto Rico, coach Frédéric Gonçalves announced the composition of his starting team:

In the first period despite several missed opportunities in the first 30 minutes of play including 2 missed actions in easy circumstances by Shwendesky Joseph in the 20' and Nérilia Mondésir in the 28', the Puerto Rican Jillienne Aguilera following a foul committed by Roxanne Vilain in the penalty area opens the scoring on a penalty in favor of Puerto Rico in the 41' [0-1]

Back from the locker room our Grenadières showed themselves to be solid, fighting and convincing but despite several opportunities, the shots of our girls (51',54',57', 59' and on a missed penalty from Nérilia Mondesir from 74') were collided with the impassable goalkeeper Sydney Martinez of the "Coqui Warriors".

Score unchanged at the end of the match, marking the elimination of Haiti from the 2024 Gold Cup.
